Default when to change Timing belt ?

I'm at 77000miles is it a good time to change the Timing belt?

1)how much$ for the belt? (part and labor?)
2)what other parts beside the belt should I change along?

Thx!

The '01 owner's manual calls for it at 120K.

I have a 2003 PT GT. A couple months ago I had the timing belt changed, water pump, radiator hoses, fan belt, flushed the radiator, serviced the tranny, new motor mounts, gave it a new battery and some fresh shoes at 103,000 miles. Runs like new, uses no oil, and I'm ready for another 100,000 miles.

What was the cost for all of that work.

Like I tell my wife, you can buy a new car and pay hundreds in car payments for 5 years... or just take care of what you got, and it will last forever.

I posted this on 2 of the timing belt forums hoping someone will notice one of them... I installed a new Timing Belt using a ruler to align the marks on the cam gears so they're centered with the cam sprocket bolts, the "2.4" is on the left on both wheels. I've noticed since then that the left side Exhaust Cam mark should be 1/2 tooth lower. So I may be off one tooth the other way. But anyway, what has me freaked out is that the valves are hitting something with less than 1/2 turn of the cam sprocket. The crankshaft was aligned, but apparently that shouldn't matter because only the valves can hit each other. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? I don't see how it could be hitting something that quickly if off only a tooth. I haven't pulled it back apart yet-will be soon, but hoping someone may know what's wrong. Thanks!

You should really make a new thread and ask instead of replying many old post.
also I think the 1/2 notch thing is wrong and might be confusing people.
