Default Easiest way to remove door spears?

Anyone know of an easy way to remove the door spears without scratching or chiping the paint around them? Looks like I'm suposed to just wegde a flat head screw driver underneath and pull them off. Is this right?

NO. Heat them up with a hair dryer, one section at a time. Not too close, you just want to soften up the glue. You can either get some stong fishing line and work it between the spear and door in a sawing action to cut the glue from the back of the spear, or get hold of a wooded flat blade and wedge it between the spear and door slowly working your way from point to end. If you do use a screwdriver, wrap it good so it doesn't mar the surface.

By the way...why did you post this in the classified section? [:I]

I didn't mean to post it here. Thanks for the info. I have a plastic sweegy that I used for my graphics. It would be the ideal thing to use, but I can't even get it in, and under either edge. I gues I'll try heating it up a little. I like the fishing line idea too. I just wanted to be sure there were no faseners underneath holding it in place.

Eric,
You can even let it sit out in the sun as bright as it is today and then I took dental floss and mine came right off......the key though is what was said above, get that part of the car hot and it will be very easy to do.....

Thanks. I'm going to use a hair dryer to warm them up a little.
