Tell ya what, I am drooling for the Caliber SRT-4

Motor Trend's April edition (like QSD said) did a 3 page write-up on the new Caliber. Some interesting add-ons in the interior. The gove box is 2 tier and incorporates a beverage cooler. The optinal audio package includes flip-down Musicgate speakers (looks like a boom box). The 300 horse poswr versin won't be available till late in the year and WON'T have all-wheel drive. Estimated price for the SRT-4 is $25K.

Yes I drove one it was nice on the inside definately nicer than the Neon, I don't like the Exterior that much. There will be a 310hp SRT version available later in the year with all wheel drive. It was very quiet running and the doors seemed solid, I wanted to open it up, maybe next time

There will be a 300hp SRT version, available sometime around Spring 07. It will NOT be all wheel drive. It will be front wheel drive. This is to keep down cost. Supposedly the torque steer present with the current gen SRT4 has been handled. And don't worry about the lack of AWD, supposedly an SRT Caliber test mule handed an Evo it's ass when out and about for testing earlier...Also, it will be available with a 6 speed manual. No CVT is planned for the SRT. The 2.4 Turbo (World Engine) in these share NOTHING with the current 2.4. Nothing will easily bolt up, meaning no 6 speed swaps into the PT or current SRT4. These statements come from the SRT engineering team....

Sure wish they made a model more like our GT cause I think it has a better platform and better handling and maybe greater gas mileage but I am afraid that the RT engine at 173 HP wont be strong enough for me and the 4 mpg it gets more than my GT wont make up for its lack of performance.
