Did you try going to lowes or home depot? They have a buncha different types there (and they have automotive grade if I remember correctly) which is REALLY sticky.

HI, I had this problem last year. 3M does make the take in different thicknesses but it is very hard to find. I installed a Xenon body kit on my car and needed the really thick tape. I used .090" thick tape and it was barely thick enough. You can also get adhesion promotor tubes to help make it stick. I cleans and make the tape stick really good. I finally had to call 3M and order it. I have some left over that I would probably sell. It was $100 for a 100' roll I believe. I still have the promotor too.

A lot of sign shops use the 3M tapes (VHB) for sign installations. You might try contacting some to see if they would sell you a section.

Or call some local sign supply houses - but you may need to purchase a lot more than you need.

Any auto body an paint supplier can fill your needs but I was told you can get different widths but not thickness so say "painters supply".

Not necessarily so. When I bought off EBAY, I got 2 different thickness.
