i went to the dealer ship yesterday to get a price on haveing them done they to me that they just replace the control arm cause pressing them out ruins the control arms..ever heard of that

Time is money! It's faster to switch out control arms than it is to remove the bushing from the control arm after you remove it. On the plus side, you get a new ball joint and front control are bushing.

thanks for the info. thats helps make the decision much easier. by the way my cruiser is inferno red as well but mine is the limited edition.

I have a 2001 PT standard. I live in New Orleans, where the roads are like Beruit. I had to replace all the front-end bushings, struts and shocks recently. One thing that I think contributed is lower profile tires on the front end. I advise against it.

yes, there is a brass insert in the center mount that can be changed that will take the "clunk" out. Easy change, it seems it cost me around 35.00 for the part.
also had a clunk in the front---changed the rubber mounts at 12.50 each and is good as new
dealers prefer to change the whole deal $$$$$$$$$$
