Default Still can't find the knocking noise at rear!HELP!

Any of you guys got this problem? When the rear go over bumper surface it emit this knocking noise near the wheel well. It seems come from either side......it sounds like this Klock Klock Klock!

I have someone took everything off and still the problem is there. Even the bumper is replace and shock and everything bushing sway bar or either replaced or taken off for inspection and still the sound is there.

I wasted whole lot of $ on this car and I still can someone fix this problem or atleast find it. The sound is from somewhere behind the rear sits

Got any idea....I'm almost at a point that I may need to find another car.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Some of us had knocking from an aftermarket exhaust from the the part of the exhaust pipe that went over the rear axle. When you it a bump, the rear axle went up and hit the pipe.

bad bushing in the bellcrank, part of the Watts Linkage which laterally stabilizes the rear axle. as soon as you mention it to the parts guy - he'll know exactly what you mean. its a common part failure. costs about $150 for the garage to change...

i just fixed it in my 01, as i was chasing this problem for awhile...

Now that you mention it, the gas filler tube on our 2002 was an issue, sometimes bumping against the black hold down bracket used for shipping the PT. I used a long Zip Tie and secured the tube to the bracket using the hole in the bracket and wrapping the Zip Tie around the tube.
Another issue we had with the 2002 is the right (Passenger side) end of the rear sway bar coming loose from normal use. The bolt at the end of the bar that attaches it to the link would come loose just from the boby moving up and down. The factory calls for the bolt to be torqued to 40 or 45 foot pounds but would still come loose. I tightened it to 50 foot pounds over a year ago and no problems. Note, when this would come loose, I didn't get a knock or thump but usually a squeak.
