I went in to have my 06 PT worked on about a week ago. According to the Service Manager at my dealership, the '06 is already based on the Caliber. That is the reason for the interior re-design. They will no longer be using the Neon as the base.[?]
Your service manager is misinformed. [B)]The changes for '06 are cosmetic. All mechanicals are the same as before. The caliber has different engines and transmissions.

LOL!

We are not talking about the mechanics. We are talking about a service manager, who probably isn't allowed near the lifts. (And if they were, would not know what they were looking at.)

The service managers usually have a job that involves Selling You Stuff You Don't Need, and lying about when your car will be ready. This is easier to do when you know little or nothing about the vehicles.

Ok, maybe at Some Stealerships there are Service Managers who are expert mechanics and well informed on the vehicle engineering. But they are not generating big profits (and getting big bonuses) by selling a lot of needless high-mark-up services.

I drove a 2006 Civic Hybrid with a CVT.. It was okay, it had enought "PEP" for in town driving. But i dreaded getting on the freeway with it (as i do in all automatics)...... Anyway you my biased opinion on automatic transmissions, MANUALS RULE!
