For those with older PT's...how long did your original battery last? Mine is 4 yrs. old and I'm wondering if I need to be thinking about replacing it? Thanks

Mine will be 5 years old in July and the battery is still going strong. I'll probably spring for a new one in September.

mine is 3 yrs old noticed a few weak starts on cold winter mornings but seems good now will get a new one before next winter though

At 3.5 years it gave me signs of not being ready for winter, so I replaced it last November when Sear ran a sale on Die-Hards.

But thats just being cautious. It turned out to be a mild winter, I might have got away with a few more months.

As for your battery, a lot depends on how you use it, weather, etc. If it is still reliable, go right on using it.

You just have to ask yourself one question:
"Do I feel Lucky"?

And keep some jumper cables handy.

Mine is now 5 1/2 years. Original Mopar battery in '01 TE, built March 2000. Now has 36,000 m iles, sits in garage alot(have an '03 Dream also). My fingers are crossed--never had a battery last this long. sometimes think about carrying a spare!!

My early edition 01 has the original battery still going strong. 100,000 miles on the car with no major problems.

wow !! 100,000 miles now thats alot of wear tear on the car & battery and no major problems very cool !!

I have a 2001 Ltd with 43K miles and the original battery. There were a few weak starts this past winter but I made it through with no problems. I may go ahead and replace it this summer to avoid any unpleasant interruptions.
