Default heated mirrors....

i had to replace my mirrors on my 03gt with new ones that have the heated element on them. i was wondering how i would hook up the heated element to my system. where would i run the power line to? the defroster switch? my car does not currently have them on it. any ideas would be helpful.

How many amps? By running off defroster, you may overload fuse/wiring.
Get a relay (radio shack) - take a separate power feed from the battery, put in an inline fuse, and wire the relay to the rear defroster switch so when you switch on rear defroster, relay closes & sends power to mirror heat.
so:
Pos of battery -> inline fuse -> contacts of relay -> mirror(s).
Rear window defroster switch -> coil of relay.

Don’t believe the myth about the 03`s. I have a 03 and purchased the mirrors and found that the proper wiring was not there. You have to run a wire to the defroster switch.
