I am experiencing early pad and rotor failure on my 06. At 15.5k I am showing wear on the rotors and pads. Has anyone tried aftermarket rotors and ceramic pads to cure this issue?
Thanks Kzac Update, When I removed the front pads, they were about 1/2 worn the rotors were almost at the maximum limit of wear 21.9 mm vs 21.4 mm max wear. The problem is in the excessive dust the brake pads produce. The dust clogs up the area where the pads actually slide, this causes a situation where the pads can not relax after breaking because of the accmulation of dust in the sliding area. Changing the pads and rotors has greatly reduced the dust and my fuel mileage has improved about 4-5 mpg. I plan on trying ceramic pads later Kzac |

I have heard of folks who do 90% city driving, needing pads at 12K.

I used and highly advise using the Raybestos (PepBoys) ceramic pads up front. No dusting and longer wear and slightly better fad and stopping power. I also went with slotted and drilled disks and SS lines all around. Biggest improvement was the front pads. I already have about 20,000 miles on the front pads and they are hardly (20%) worn according to my lube man. Got my rotors on eBay and they were cheaper than a stock replacement. I did not need new rotors at 30,000 but I wanted the upgraded ones anyway!! [?]
