Illegal? Possibly a 'failure to drive in proper lane' or 'unsafe speed' law can be twisted enough to apply.

More importantly: More dangerous.

Other than occasionally grabbing the blatently intoxicated and 'Street Schumachers'(Mike or Tony), highway traffic enforcement tends to bias toward 'revenue' not 'safety'.

I can tell you.. For all the times i am on I-5 here in Central California people haul ass on that road.. It's posted 70.. But if you are doing 70 you will get some looks and maybe even a honk or two.. You have to do at least 80 to keep up.. Most of the CHP who patrol that section don't care that you are doing 80-85 as long as you are safe.. Not weaving in and out and causing a damgerous situation.. Keep with the flow of traffic and you will be fine. I saw some people doing about 90-100 mph and they got pulled over.

um, well...

To: Cruisin (sir)

It would take more explaining than I should do in this forum, being cars and such, to explain what seems to you to be a contradiction. The simplest way I could explain, i think is to say that I've suffered a LOT of "appreciation" in my life. I never asked for an out on my potential tickets either, so in some ways it was a minor nice thing... perhaps we? I? am assuming it was because of my looks. Maybe they were just being nice? [:I]

Up until the last couple of years I have always driven LABOOH. I'm certain I've deserved some tickets, they just didn't give them to me.

TO: Hotrod - thanks for the suggestion I should post more! - I never intend to cause controversy or suggest people shouldn't THINK and have opinions that differ from my own. [)]

I don't know where else I could go for info on "Baby". (That's my car, she's so pretty! - well - up until a week ago anyway.)

LABOOH: LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL!!!! Gosh, I miss those days.

zoom zoom!

latest mod: neighbor girl keyed my car.

Victoria,

It's human nature for a male officer to be "nice" to a female driver (unless he's just gotten a divorce and been raked over the coals by the judge). If your BOOH driving days are over, and all your experiences of being stopped were good ones, consider yourself lucky and blessed with being a fine looking woman. Most of the male drivers on this and other forums would like to have a clean driving record. My wife has also been stopped many times and only has one blemish on her record in 30 years (I let her drive my Vette on the highway and her lead foot took her higher than even I could talk the trooper out of leaving her go).

I take it now that your not leaving this forum as you said you might. Apologies have been posted, so hopefully you'll stick around. Sorry to hear about your latest mod.

You let the wife drive the vette? [:X]

My mom hated the thing when she drove it... She told me it rode too low and the clutch was way too hard to push down. She also didn't like the fact that it was so quick.. But for me that would be a plus but to each his/her own right?

Yea, it was a 13 hour drive back from my sons house in West Virginia to Florida. I drove for the first 6 hours and then let her take the wheel while I took a nap. Told her to take it easy, but first thing I knew she was shakin me awake saying there's a State Trooper comin after her. [:I]

just thought I'd follow up, the judge saw it my way!

I honestly wouldn't have minded paying a ticket if I'd been the one speeding. I just know North Carolina is a speed trap - so's I was being VERY careful. The irony.

nice weekend for a trip for the most part.
