what is the rarest color pt ??

hello all, what would be the rarest color pt out there ?? would it be garys04gt ?? i know they didnt make that green for long does anyone know ?? just curious [:I]

I would say it is the Seamist. (Originally marketed as SeaFoam). They only produced the color for a little ore than 6 months.... and my wife had to have one.

Also, Shale Green Metallic, '01 produced about 4 months--see VERY few of these. Don't know numbers. I also have '03 Tangerine Pearl. Run was stopped well under planned 7500 units because dealers were afraid of the color. Chrysler will not reveal exact number. Highest reported on the forums(I've seen) is about 3800. Anyone know?

my mom test drove one of the 03 perals, she is still in love with the color. All i remember is that i loved the orange leather.

I asked DC the breakdown of 5-speed and autostick DC2's, and this was their response:

Dear Brian:

Thank you for your recent email to DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation
regarding production figures for the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Our records show 297 model year 2003 GT Dream Cruiser Series 2 vehicles
were produced with manual transaxles. The number produced with
automatic transaxles was 1,892.

That makes a grand total of 2189 Tangerene Pearl Coat DC2's for 2003.
Now, if TPC becomes an available hue on the 2007 PT's I expect we'll be seeing a lot more cool colored Cruisers!

I think some of the rarest colors are the two-tones that were produced in the 2005 model year. Less than a couple hundred of the black/red PT Cruisers were made.

My car also turned out to be especially unique as it is a very rare color -- Bright Seamist Green Metallic -- although I didn’t know this at the time of purchase. Later, I was informed by Daimler-Chrysler that a total of 1857 Seamist Green PT Cruisers were manufactured early in the 2004 model year. Of those, only 146 GT models were ever made and mine was one of them. This makes my car a “Seamist Green GT-146 Limited Edition.” [8D]

Thanks for the input on the # of '03 Dreams. I went to Chrysler.com several times with the same question and never got an answer. They are numbered consecutively and mine is #2430 which exceeds Chrysler's total. Also, it's interesting that the '03 was the last year they included the number on the dash for the dreams. The 3 & 4 series do not have dash plaques with the #'s.

Anyone else have a higher #?

This has been discussed before, and the consensus is that the numbered dash plaques were not attached to the cars in a strict sequential order, and since the planned 7500 units wasn't even close to being built (is actually documented to be 2189) there were numbered plaques produced higher than actual DC2 production.
This situation might help explain why they stopped putting numbers on subsequent Dream Cruiser dash plaques (too confusing )
