No, you said the best was the Michelin Hydro Edge. I now expect you to back up this statement the same way you expect everyone else, on several forums, to back up their claims about plug gap, intakes, exhausts, etc. Have you done back to back tests - or is it just something you feel? Have you quantified stopping distances, cornering Gs, etc of this and other tires - or is it just something you feel? Is this a tire you are recommending to others, and expect them to believe you - just because it's something you feel?

Do you see where I'm going with this? You love slamming people all the time for making this comment (heck, I've seen you make condescending comments on another forum about someone who tracked down a purely cosmetic piece he was looking for) yet offer up no concrete evidence to support your own claim. I just thought it was high time you got a taste of your own. You might want to consider that just because someone has an opinion that differs from your own that it isn't automatically wrong, nor should it be subject to your ridicule.

I went with the Kumho Ecsta ASX with a ZR speed rating for my 03 GT. I was very happy with the cornering, smooth at 80 MPH and acceleration on both wet or dry surfaces. I stayed with the 205/50/17 as I didn't want to adversely affect my milage. Compaired to the OEM Goodyears these are great. This forum is starting to die out and I think in part it's due to the fun facter. When someone passes on information as to what worked well for them there is a cry for dyno tests or track tests. If you want to spend the money for the tests and have the time to do so great, we don't all have that.I think that this mind set has scared away people who would normally post. The reason for this forum should be for people to ask questions and those who know answer them without ridicule.

I agree, and it's the reason I'm giving rszappa1 such a hard time. He's always the first to cry BS because nobody shows a dyno slip or track times to verify their claims. Gut Check posted a decent review of a mod he made (in this case tires, obviously), with what I can only believe is an honest opinion. Now rszappa1 comes along and throws out the term "best" to describe his decision, yet offers nothing to back up such a claim. Not even anectdotal evidence. I find this utterly rediculous coming from him. My intent was not to irritate anyone on this forum, rather to call someone to task who has been the cause of your, and others, frustrations.

We all make decisions on mods, whether cosmetic or performance, based on what we want, what we feel is correct, perhaps the best bang for the buck, or based on what a general consensus of forum members recommends. I think that's perfectly fine and more than acceptable, and a post like Gut Check's and your own are valuable contributions to this forum. What I find objectionable is one individual, in this case rszappa1, slamming every one else for offering an opinion and then doing the same thing himself, especially with an item that is arguably one of the greatest performance mods you can make to any car - tires. Right or wrong, I took it upon myself to call him on this one. I apologize to you if you were irked in any way by my posts.

As for me, I am happy with Continental Extreme Contacts, other than the juvenile name, they have great wet/dry performance, and are better than most all-seasons in the snow, which was a critical factor for me.
