Default PT Cruiser Showed it's true colors..

It's a safe car.. A really safe car.. I trust it more than ever now, Today, coming home from the post office i was driving and i came around a bend and wham.. I hit a full size tire in the road, like one off of a small truck.. No way i could have dodged it in time. I blew out the front left tire on the cruiser and the tire is totally gone, the whole side wall is blown out. That car handeled like a champ allowing me to get off the road and get changed over to the spare glazed donut they give you for a spare.. Here are some pics of the damage..

The donut.. [:0]

Glad you are alright. Sounds and looks as if it could have been worse.

So you going for the old hot rod look uh. Little tires up front and big ones in the back.

I came 'round a bend and hit a rock the size of a loaf of bread - dented my rim and tire lost all air.
My daughter hit a pothole with her GT and destroyed a rim...
So, I bought 3 GT rims with used tires from a member of another PT Forum - replaced bad rim of daughter's and now she and I have full-size spares....
Hate that damn donut....[xx(]

Where does that full size spare store. It dont look like mine will fit in the tire carrier does yours? Also the weight of the ful size rim and tire may exeed the wight that carrier is designed to carry and it might fail even if yo can fit it under the car. I hve been lucky in about 70,000 Cruiser miles never had a tire problem more than a block away from either home or tire stores. Biggest problem was low air pressure.
