Warranty Renewal

My 2005 is about at the end of the 3yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and I just recieved a letter my from the dealership stating that I could extend it to match the remaining time on the 7 yr/70,000 mile powertrain warranty and I just wanted opinions on whether or not it would be worth the cost.The finance man at the dealership quoted me a price of $1,495 to extend it.Does this sound reasonable Considering I drive an average of 25 to 30,000 miles a year?

Understand you are 1/2 way to 70k. Is it worth it to pay $1500 for another 35k miles?

I'm at 77,000 miles on my 2001 PT Cruiser...
So far, I've had no need, for a $1,500.00 extended warranty!!

Goggle estended warranty' to see if you can get a better price. I got a 5year, 50K for less than $1K from Whittrock Chrysler in Carroll IA. email Kevin@whittrockmotors.com This was when I purchased my '06 new. $1500 sems a lot!!!!

[:I]I am & was in the same boat....My '03 Pt has 42K miles on it & the 3/36k is expired. All I have left is the 7/70K from Chrysler on the drivetrain.The best I could find & I shopped was $1450 for a $100.00 deductible to 7/85K.Hey its insurance & they want to make $$ so I think its not worth it. The car is only worth 10-12k at best& thats pushing it. If something really goes wrong Im trading it for one of those end of month deals which the dealer will fix it for cost & we all win.... ** I think warranties are as good as the car** I dont want one that needs fixing all the time!
