I have only seen 2 others besides my car.I think if they did better advertising and offered it with a turbo sales would have been better.I had my car for 3 months when i had to go to the dealer to get a spare key. When i came out of the parts department there were 3 salesmen standing near my car and 1 asked where i had the car painted. If a chrysler salesmen didnt know the color was available how could the general public.I have had my car for over a year and like i said i have only seen 2 others and 1 was at a pt show.So i guess its kind of cool to know there were not many made.
You're right, if they had offered a turbo option they would have sold much better. Then again, DCX is not known for their smarts when it comes to listening to the public. Panel version anybody?

(According to our records, at this time, the production numbers for the
yellow Route 66 Chrysler PT Cruiser has not been released. Our records
indicate that 1,443 Route 66 Chrysler PT Cruisers were produced in 2006.)

It would be nice to find out how many yellow 1's were built.Chrysler produced a black route 66 that wasnt sold in usa.
I have one that is solar yellow and I live in Va. so how do I find out how many were sold in Va.?

Thanks for the info because I have never seen another one like mine. The only thing I don't like about my pt cruiser is the ugly oversized tail lights. I bout an after market lens cover that I painted the same color as my solar yellow cruiser. They have "PT" cut out in the cover and when you turn on the turn signal you plainly see the letters "PT". There is an opening at the bottom to let the brake light shine through. It really ads to the cool looks of the Cruiser.

Tail light covers???
Be sure they meet your state's laws. Usually must show some side refelector.
LED lights are also a good option. I happen to like the big tail lights. I even added an blinking LED in the spoiler to help wake up my "followers"!
