I think the remote start module needs a programed chipped key to hide somewheres near the ignition module. Something to do with the SKIM code. I've heard it's best to NOT get the spare key used for the remote start cut. This way, if your car gets broken into and the low down dirty fricking thief finds the remote start module, he won't get a cut key with it to steal your car. Others in the know could verify this though.
