Does anybody else hear that as well?

When I put in my FIPK intake, and went for a test drive, I stopped because I was sure I had an intake leak - now I'm used to it, but sounds like Darth Vader....

I just bought an 06 PT and my factory intake is noisy as hell. I was thinking of putting an aftermarket on but I'm afraid it will get too annoying on an automatic.

I just installed a AiRaid intake filter system. Yes, it is louder when I "step on it", but I do like the sound and when I get up to speed and let off it isn't much louder than stock. I am hoping that the gas milage improves on my '06 as much as it did on my '02.

Welcome, John.
Look up the clubs on the home page here, and find one near you, contact them, and before you get an intake, ask if there's someone who has the one you're thinking of - then try to go hear it first-hand.
I never heard of anyone saying the stock intake was noisy - check that everything is on right - like maybe the cover to where tha air filter is isn't clipped down? That would make it noisier.
