Default Newby Stupid Question -- Jack/jackstand placement

This is my first vehicle without an actual/real frame.... so bear with me... actually the first vehicle I've owned that I can't slide under while it sits on the tires in the driveway .... but here goes

Say you want to jack up the front corner of your PT Cruiser and put it on a jackstand... and say you know the correct place to put the jack along the "frame rail"... according to the owners manual... This is also the only correct place to put a jack stand is it not ??? So how does one go from jack to jackstand...

I have put the jack stand as close to the floor jack as I can, usually behind the jack on the fromt & in front of the jackstand in the back. No problem!!!

Agree w/Hooligan. I put the jack as close to wheel as possible so jackstand and jack will "straddle" the designated jackpoint. (an inch or 2 off isn't gonna hurt)
