I have a set of custom 17" wheels on my 97 Sebring that I want to switch off to put on the 2006 PT I bought today now that the Sebring is ready for the boneyard...I know they will fit dimension wise on the bolts but I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with putting 17's on theirs with clearances etc and if so how did you rectify it ? In other words can I just remove the stock alloys to slap on the 17's ?
http://www.rtxwheels.com/eng/store//...X1923&catid=11 is the exact wheel I have... Any feedback would be appreciated [:I] |

Welcome.
17" isn't the issue - bolt pattern of 5x100, offset of +35 are. Quite sure the proper tire size is 215/50 for 17". As MeanGreen noted, 17" wheels come on the GT, so it's not a problem.

Thanks for the info...the tire size on the wheels now are 215/60/17..I don't recall the offset but I'll give them a shot to see how it works out

And I was wrong - stock tire size is 205/50/17, not 215/50. (went to Chrysler website). |

Thanks guys for your help. Tomorrow should be the big day to do the switch if the weather actually cooperates.
I did find a great link at http://www.carmodifier.com/default.a...ntreCalculator which will show how the different tire sizes will impact the speedometer reading. It could be handy for anyone else who might have the same questions. Thanks again ! |

I was wrong..the tires I have are 215/50/17 and it looks like I will need the tire size suggested...205/50/17. When I tried the wheels today on the front the strut almost rests on top of the tire...maybe 1/16" of clearance if that. With the 16's on it currently there is about 1/4" clearance or better....they will look great though when they are on...correct offset and all
