wire harness for new head unit

i am upgrading the head unit in my 2006 pt cruiser however the wires from the stock harness inside the dash do not match up with the adapter that is made for the car - how can i install a head unit - how have other pt cruiser owners installed their head units

When i changed the radio in my 06 they didnt have a harness for a 06 pt cruiser so i got 1 from a 2006 chrysler 300,they use the same radio..if you go to crutchfield.com item # is 120706502

i have that harness - but for some reason the wires do not match correctly in the car - for example - the car harness has wires on pins 1 4 5 6 ... on the top row - from left to right - that adapter has wires on ppins 1 2 3 6 ... on the top row

im just wondering why the adapters sold everywhere dont actually match the car and how to go about installing the head unit

there are 2 harnesses 1 if your car came with the boston acoustic package and 1 for the basic radio.The part # i listed is for the basic radio.The only difference would be an extra wire for the remote turn on for the amp.I used the harness in my car and had no problem.It pluged right in and works fine.[:I]
