I did not have any clue what "Mopar" meant until quite awhile after I got my cruiser and started reading the forums and asking (mostly dumb) questions! I got the cruiser because it was A.CUTE! B. functional C. reasonably priced, if you can call any new car "reasonably" priced nowadays C.CUTE! D.CUTE! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it on display at the Houston Car Show when we were in the market to replace the Saturn I was driving. I do think the cruiser makes us all feel "cool" and that is a large part of the appeal as well.[8)][8D] And Sattelite, that is a COOL signature you have there![^]

I have always been a Ford owner. I saw the PT on a television ad. I cleaned out my Explorer and traded it in.

Ive always been GM until the PT came out, struck a certain nerve in me. Daimler/Chrysler always has been 2nd choice though. Now that the GT is out, well I cant resist.

My criteria were simple...had to be four doors, had to be "utilitarian" but still sporty, and had to be American made (alas...Mexican made as it turns out [:I]) It was a neck-and-neck with the Jeep Liberty (I was trading in my Grand Cherokee) but once I considered both the rollover factor of the Liberty with the type of mods I could do to either (I'm truly more of a speed freak) the GT won out. I do still miss the height and size of the larger sport ute's but I do dig the SPEED of the GT!! [8)]

My first mopar product was a 66 cuda. I did a bit of underhood work, it could pass everything except gas stations.
Sold it after a rather nasty letter from my insurance company. Got something slower.

Mopar stayed off my radar until 88, when my 86 Jeep became, retroactively, a Chrysler product. This led me to a few unpleasant encounters with Chrysler/Jeep dealers, which often had service departments that were incapable of diagnosing or repairing AMC Jeeps.

I had heard good things had come from the D/C merger. My dad was very happy with the fit, finish, comfort and performance of his T&C. And a buddy had zero problems with his PT, and the various magazines had cited the impressive quality and reliability...

And It is So Darned good-looking (yes, I wanted one from the first time I saw one on the street)... and much more usable interior room than a Mini.

I have ALWAYS like the looks of the PT. When we finally got around to buying one, we realized it was also very comfortable and easy for my wife (has MS) to get in and out of. Also holds the band equipment well.

I loved the PT the first time I saw one, and knew I hadda have it. I've owned Fords for the past 23 years. Besides my PT, my '88 T-bird Turbo Coupe was my favorite car. For sure my next car will be the PT Turbo.

Hae had GM products until my brother & brother-in-law let me know that I could use thier info to get a Chrysler product. My wife has wanted one since they first came out. This year (Sept/2003) I traded in a 2000 Dakota LTS (customed ordered) for a 2002 PT. Bought it from a dealer had 19,000+ miles on it. Figured it was just broken in. Have driven it almost 700 miles so far, really enjoy it. I live in Florida 8 miles from Kennedy Space Center.
