After two days of working on it, I've determined I don't have the tools to remove the intake manifold. Not meaning to put down on the guys making the guide, but it simply didn't work on mine. It's back together now and leaking air badly so I have to take it to the dealership to get fixed. IF I try to do this again, I will schedule with the dealership to have them remove the intake manifold with my car on their lot (not in the shop), then I'll clean and paint it...3 hours later, they can put the intake manifold back on and a week later I go back to do the lettering and clearcoat the lettering.

RN,
Sorry to hear about your problem with the manifold. I will admint that instructions leave a lot to the imagination when removing the various items that need to be taken off, but it did work for me. There's not a whole lot of tools other than what's in a decent tool box except for the torque wrench. The EGR tube in the rear of the engine and those darn electrical connections were the hardest things I found to take off. Hope the shop will honor your request about working out-doors so you can paint the underneatch of the manifold. I would think you would have to have a real good relationship with them to do that. Good Luck.

They said they could manage the removal for painting sometime. When I was pulling out and putting in bolts, the EGR 13mm was a pain but once I figured it out, I had no more problems with it...it sealed up well eventually, too. I think the 13mm under the air hose was the problem. It'll be fixed and all Wednesday, then screens go in and custom mirror housing and window pillar painting.

Also, cut a deal with parents so I can get dual scoop hood, horizontal billet grill and hood struts soon.
