Default Noisy

I recently purchased a PT Cruiser and while I'm very happy with it so far but I can't help but notice that at speeds above 60mph (or 100kmh) it becomes unusually noisy inside the car. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and it so have they been able to fix it and how. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate their input.

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Terry,

Welcome to the forum. Am getting my new PT Cruiser on Friday but from the test drives I have had I can't say I noticed anything. I'll let you know if I hear any noise on mine. If anything it was very quiet and an extremely smooth ride/sound.

Regards,

Andrew

Terry, welcome to the forum and congrats on your new PT. My wife has an '01 and I have an '02 and neither of them is particularly noisy above 60mph.
Are you driving with the sun roof or driver's window open? If thats the case, try opening the rear windows an inch or so and it should quiet right down.

Terry, we have two 2002 limited PT's Silver and Inferno Red. Neither has any noticeable noise at or above 100kmh. I would check the rubber window moldings to make sure there are no gaps between the molding and the glass. Are you using the "stock" wiper blades. I had a pair of chrome-duel blade wipers that made a bit of a noise. I don't know how easy it is to take it back to your dealer for service where you are, but if possible I would do that. Let us know if you figure it out.

Hi Terry welcome to the forum.
When I test drove a PT that had a Luggage Rack I noticed that there was a considerable amount of noise. I bought one without. Have'nt noticed any with this one 01 LE.
