I thought I had answered your querry about functional side pipes on another forum, but maybe it was someone with a logon name like yours. Try here for your pipes:
http://store.yahoo.com/wyckoff-chrys...ptcruisfu.html The part in the middle is actually a muffler and it attaches to the end of the CAT to make it all legal. Price for whole system is about $900. I see you said it was a dead end on this site...why? JC Whitnay also has some side pipes: http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jht...=14715&BQ=jcw2 ![]() ![]() Edited by - crewzin on 10/29/2002 15:30:10 |

Hi Crewzin; Yes that was me before....when I called the number on the site with this system you posted, the sales staff didn't know anything about installation on it....I have finally talked to the manager and asked how can they sell something that no one can answer basis questions on? He has since sent me instructions which I'm now bringing to my shop....I can't understand why this item is not popular with pt owners....IT HAS THE LOOK! I also found a system on calcruisers.com...but I've heard they are not reliable....Thanks for your information, I will keep board posted.....turbomangt

Forgot to mention, that if it's just the "LOOK" your after, the fake lake pipes that are sold at a few different aftermarket places, come in different lengths, and different diameters and with some (like mine) you can take the end cap off to make it look real. I've had quite a few people ask if they were real....just a thought.

Jody,
The ones pictured above from Wyckoff have a heat shield on them. It's hard to see in the picture I posted, but if you look at them installed on the site you will see what I mean. The shield is "supposed" to protect anyone from being burned if they touch it. ![]() Edited by - crewzin on 10/30/2002 18:07:57 |

I'm glad that I logged in here so I can get different opinions. I did in fact stop by a muffler shop today and talked to the owner about the side system. He brought up some points I never even thought about. Like the clearance with that system. He said that the car might not even be able to go on a rack because of where the pipes are. Plus, where I live in Chicago with the winter weather and salt on the streets, he said that a chrome plated system would not hold up. I guess it pays to walk before you buy....turbomangt
