"Most Obsessed" enthusiast award.....

[PToholics Anonymous]

As most of you know, PToholics Anonymous established an annual award, "Most Obsessed enthusiast", last year to recognize those in OUR PT Cruiser enthusiast community for their leadership, contribution, participation, and enthusiasm. We take great pains to insure that those we pick are deserving and are in fact "Most Obsessed" and meet the standards listed in our webpage. The inductee then becomes a "Crisis Counselor" with defined duties in PToholics Anonymous. He/she is then also qualified as a part of the PToholics Anonymous board of directors, and to nominate other members of the PT community for recognition.

Our PT Cruiser community is world-wide and this award isn't limited geographically.

Our First inductee, Cappy (Delaware) of the Lone Wolf Outlaw Cruisers, was recognized on November 2001 at MB II. Then earlier this year, PT Sean (Canada) was recognized at the CTF II event.

At the MB III event this coming weekend we will be announcing TWO additional "Most Obsessed" awards....one I nominated, and one that Cappy nominated.

The value isn't in the award itself, support by the PT Community,....that's YOU, for the award and recognition is essential.

It's people who lead, contribute, participate, and cheer that make our PT Cruiser enthusiast community ever better....sometimes, we need to applaude those who go way out of their way....for US.

ps....over two hundred PTobsessed and PTaddicted PTenthusiasts have begun the healing process by proclaiming their obsessions at PToholics Anonymous...are you a PToholic?

Most obbessed? I should vote for myself, seeing I have sent e mails to about 40 different sites begging for information to join or start a club in my area, and no one has pointed me in a direction. Heck, I'd be willing to organize and run it myself.....I'm not that obbessed though, last night my wife came downstairs at about 3 am, I was asleep on my computer and was in the middle of another message trying to find a club.....I'll be fine.....turbomangt 2003 turbo 5 speed/ stinger cowl induction hood

Starting a club can be a slow, but satisfying experience. When PTE comes on-line again, you may want to contact the Motown Cruisers, TomCat and/or Bullwinkle, for they are the closest to you and can offer advice, support, and tips. As for our small PT club, a couple of us just happened to meet at the local shopping center/mall almost weekly and decided to form a club. Getting more people involved/joining the club, is quite simple really. Leaving business cards or flyer's on windshields and/or talking to PT owners if you happen to meet them. Greet and Meets or local cruises can be scheduled at a local park, beach, lake, food stand, parking lot, shopping mall, or at a member's house. If you decide to charge a modest "dues" to cover printing and operational costs and/or club window clings/decals, make sure your books are up to date and available for anybody (at least members) to scrutinize or look at. Last thing you want at an early stage of a club is somebody accusing you of skimming dues or getting a salary without a club charter authorizing (by a membership vote) that kind of expenditure. As your club grows, there will be more options and opportunities available to the club to obtain discounts from local and mail order merchants and build relationships with other local car clubs (not necessarily PT related clubs) to put on or be part of joint events.
