As winter lowered the humidity, I kept getting shocked every time I got out of the PT even if the car hadn't moved. I found a cure! Before you move, reach around with your left hand and touch the door latch striker loop. Keep you hand on it as you swivel and get out so you're grounded and no shock! However you'll probably get greasy. After a few times you'll know where to touch the loop and still stay clean. One less hassle from Mother Nature.

Go to Office Depot and buy some KensingtonĀ® Dust GuardianĀ® Anti-Static Spray, 32 Oz. for about $8.00 or any commercially available anti-static spray. Spray it on your seats and carpet. A homemade brew is:
ANTI-STATIC SPRAY 1/4 C. commercial liquid fabric softener 1/4 C. ammonia 2 C. water Mix ingredients and store in a spray bottle. Spray liberally on the rug, your shoes, chair, desktop, or file cabinet. As with any chemical cleaners, test it in a small hidden area before using it all over. Wearing gloves or buying sheep skin seat covers is another option as well as adding a grounding strap to your car. 2002 Almond Pearl Limited Edition 27K It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. http://sci-fi.ptenthusiasts.net/ ![]() |

Better yet: touch metal portion of the door while open, ground yourself and get out. Works every time and no grease or purchasing anything.
