I changed my 3157 bulbs for led bulbs (both stop and signal lights). I put the diode on the positive wire, as directed on another post.
They now blink very quickly. If I turn the leds around with the diode on the negative wire they don't blink at all. I notice that when I push the hazard switch, they bilk normally. My questions are: Can I change the the turn signal blinker relay with a heavier duty one? Is the signal relay interchangeable with the hazard relay? WHERE are the relays located? If they're behind the trim panel under the steering column, how do I remove this trim panel? |

just pull on the top left & right sides of that cover under the steering column. it pops off pretty easily. Good Luck!

You'll need an electronic blinker box due to the reduced resistance in the LED bulbs. You can find them at AutoZone, for example.
Two annoyances w/ LEDs: 1. Bulb flicker, 2. Narrow viewing angles. This latter comment is particularly noticable in the taillights where the cherry-bright color is nice, but it isn't 'round' since the LEDs fire forward only, thereby avoiding the reflector. Here's a possible (but pricey) solution: http://netdisty.net/ds/aut3157/ These are unlike all the other 3157s on the market today in that they have side-firing LEDs for better visability. If anyone is willing to try these, let us know. |

I have had my AUT3157-0ER-014V LED's for a year now and i love em. they show on the side very well. they were a snap to install just plug in and go.if they dont work at first just flip them around.

Ok, I just installed the euro lenses with the LED bulbs also...got a ignorant question for you...the accelerated blinking doesnt bother me, but, will it do any damage to the electrical system??? I know NOTHING about electricity, thats why I'm asking.
