I thought I had a gap until I realized that it was the reflection of light on the black paint that BDD mentioned. Depending on the light, it's a pretty convincing illusion. I had to feel for air repeatedly while driving to convince myself that it wasn't really a gap.

If you want more peace of mind, put a light layer of chaulk on the rubber where you think it may leak. Shut the door and the chaulk line should transfer over to the door. I don't remember having a car without a glove box light for the last 15-20 years. But my memory isn't what it was 15-20 years.....what was I saying?
