Default Front end shake

2001 pt Installed 16" american racing aeros with stock goodyears.
I have a bad shake in the steering wheel very bad above 60 but can be felt at all speeds. Have had them balanced four times.when the car was test drove with stock wheels had the same problum but was gone when bought. Any ideas other than aligment, air pressure, bad tire.

Tony, might be front disc brake rotors. My 01 is just starting to get a shake (24,000 mi.) but don't care cause I'm trading it in! The rotors are cheap and thin on the 01's and probably the rest as well. At least they claim to have beefed up the rotors on the 03 GT's.

Cruise on!

Tony, check to make sure there is NO star washer on any of the wheel studs. They come from the factory like that. You have to take them off with aftermarket wheels. It's a common problem. As stated above, rotors are a VERY common problem with vibration. Good Luck!

I had the same problem. I put American Racing Estrella wheels on with Stock Goodyears and balanced them 5 different times. They even replaced 1 tire and 1 wheel and I still had it. I put up with it for about 8000 miles and it went away on it's own. I think the mistake I made was to mate a used tire and a new wheel. I think it makes the tire out of round if it has been on another wheel. I figured I would have to scrap the tires but at least now I can wear them out. I would never switch a tire that had been on another wheel again

Also make sure that the front Axels are ok. I have heard that they can cause vibration problems too...
