Although there are good suggestions in this thread, the replies, IMHO, don't really address the problem of having/parking outside near a beach. I know of no one that lives at or near a beach that can say their car does not have a layer of dust in the mornings. And at the very least, one have to clean their windshields before driving to work. IMHO, cars by or near the beach need extra care and more frequent washings and waxings.
For example, I went over to my friends place at the marina to help him detail his car. It was decided to use a synthetic wax, polymer, paint sealer, etc. after polishing and claying the paint, in this case Zaino as a base for long term protection. Ended up having to apply the Zaino over at my place, since, even with using the ZFX additive, there was already dust on the car, and who wants swirl marks or micro scratches. Since he washes his car weekly and wanted to keep the shine and protection, I recommended going down to the local Harley-Davidson dealer to buy a jar of S-100 wax. S-100 wax is very easy to use, just wipe on and wipe off, doesn't stain trim, and was the #2 rated wax, just behind Zaino (Zaino won overall due to durability, but P21S/S100 actually had a higher initial rating for gloss, shine, slickness, beading, etc.)according to the Guru Wax Reports. The time it takes to wax with S100 is the same if one just used a quick detailer and waxing weekly is not a problem or time consuming, so he is a very happy camper and has a great looking car, ymmv. 2002 Almond Pearl Limited Edition 27K It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. http://sci-fi.ptenthusiasts.net/ ![]() Edited by - Sci-Fi on 03/29/2003 10:39:11 |

I like Eagle 1 Wet personally. It has a deeper shine than Meguire's on my Dodge Stealth. I've used them both and I had to make the switch.

Has anyone tried 5 star shine products (www.5starshine.com)?
I'd like to know if anyone can personally back up their claims of 150 washes between applications (3 to 5 years). 2003 PT Turbo Deep Cranberry 'R' Package Stock + AutoStick Came off assembly line 1/14/03 (Tuesday) between 2200 and 2300. |

I totally agree with Sci-Fi here about the S100/P21S. Another benefit is that once on, the S100 attracts way less dust than Zaino (just from my experience). Also I used to use Zaino on my white Accord and loved it since Zaino produces such a "Reflective" shine. With my Electric Blue GT however, the Zaino didn't bring out the color as much or provide much depth. So I switched to the S100 and have been loving it ever since. Like he said....ymmv

I use FINISHFIRST and it's the best product I've come across in a long time. Easy to put on and very, very easy to take off. Shine and protection lasts a long time. Works especially well on dark colors!
