TooL - Lateralus
TooL - Aenima
TooL - Opiate
TooL - Undertow
TooL - Salival
TooL & Rage against the Machine - purchased at a show, interesting combo.. definatly keeps the speakers busy.
Heh, right now it's just all TooL stuff
I've been to a great deal of their concerts, across a few states as well. They're one of the few bands out there that always puts out quality work.

Ooooh. Achtung Baby. I need to dig that one out.

Bitches Brew. I checked that out of the library when I was 16. It turned me off to jazz for 15 years. I didn't know what the hell that was at the time.

I find it kind of wild that Tool is so well-represented here. I bought Lateralus just two weeks ago on a new music hunt. All I knew about them was that the critics liked them as one of the better/more intelligent bands of the heavier genres and I thought the artwork for that CD was extremely cool. I like it (it's a nice change of pace) but never would have expected very many folks to.

Off the top of my head these are the possible explanations:

A. I'm more out of touch than I thought (havin' youngens'll do that to a guy)
B. Cruisers have better taste
C. Metal lovers like to share their preferences
D. All of the above

bemo-

Sorry to hear Miles turned you off to jazz.

It seems to help my drive in the grid-lock traffic here in the Atlanta.

onyxgreen,

I'm better now. It was just a little, let's say, advanced for me at the time.

OK...so we don't have our Cruiser just yet....we will in a little over a week. I've already made the first mix CD that will be played as soon as it is off the transport truck and we get in it and turn the key the first time. Here's the tracklist of what will be serenading our sweet "Prudence" when she first arrives. Anybody old enough will remember that Track 1 is what they used to play on the Newlywed Game as they told the winning couple what they just won .

If you like the cover art, and art on their insert, check out Alex Gray. (and the 'zine Juxtapose. I can't remember what month but it was a recent issue they did a feature on his work. ) He's the gentleman that does the majority of the artwork that you will find relating to TooL. VERY interesting and intruiging artwork.
I've known about and been listening to TooL since pretty much their beginings, when they were still an opening act. They seem to be more of an underground culture kind of bad in a way. Just in the fact that they dont get nearly as much exposure as a lot of other bands whom have a somewhat similar style.
