New Forum Features!

Thanks to everyone for your feedback on making these Forums better. I've upgraded to some new features that you've suggested including:

- Favorites/Bookmarking: Now when you bookmark or add a topic to your favorites, the actual topic title is saved in your bookmarks or favorites.

- Jump To Last Post: On the forums' homepage and forum pages you can now find an extra icon to quickly jump to the last post made in a forum or topic.

- Sticky topics: Like this topic, it stays at the top of the Forum for important announcements

- Smilies in reply window: Smilies are no longer a pop-up window. I'm working on getting some cooler-looking smilies.

- Signatures: Now if you change your signature in your profile, it will update all your past posts with your new sig. (before, your old posts used your old sig)

- Quick reply: At the end of each topic is a Quick Reply box, to make replying easier

- Topic Sorting:
Each user can now sort the topics on the forum page by a couple criteria:
1) Last Post Time
2) Topic Title
3) Topic Author
4) Number of Replies
5) Number of Views
These can be sorted in ascending or descending order, and for a specified timespan


- Flood Conrol: Before if you clicked "Post new Topic" twice, it would post your reply twice. Now you have to wait 30 seconds between posts, to avoid duplicate postings.

- Posting: Auto-insertion of the Forum Code around the selected text (Internet Explorer only).

- Posting: JavaScript Form validation (no more loss of your post when you forget to enter the subject)

Plus a few others that improve download speeds. Let me know if you have any other ideas, or have any problems. Thanks everyone.

The site is looking good but I do have a couple of questions.
Some of the icons are confusing and new without explanation, such as the purple folder with red pushpin?
The “new posts” and “posts with more than 8 replies” are the same?
Have you just not had a chance to update these yet?

= sticky topic

In most places, you can place your mouse cursor over the icons for a description of that icon... if you are using Internet Explorer 5+ or Netscape 6+.

The only difficulty I've noticed is the little characters that you click on to "
"quote", "edit", "delete" etc. your posts are hard to figure out. Words would be better than little characters.

Thanks zzhuh, I agree. I'll work on it.

In the meantime, you can hover over the icons for a description.

The Revel knob is great... much more solid feel, higher quality than the factory knob. an A+.
