Thanks again, ya'll.....we officially "drove" her last night and this morning....what a dream come true....the car drives itself. We just grin and steer. Neither of us has ever had anything to drive near this. And we found out that the fuel/AC line thing didn't apply (whew!) but we did get the "secondary fuel pump seal" recall taken care of at the dealer when we had them do the inspection yesterday morning. They couldn't believe it either.

We live on a dusty caleche (sp?) road...white dust everywhere. I got a couple of those microfiber things at AutoZone and wiped down everything this morning...didn't wipe the paint, just the wheels, windows, wheel-wells, under the hood, and the dashboard...(do you wet these towels to use them on the paint? I've heard you don't wipe the paint when it's dry, only wet....somebody fill me in! About to head out and find that Briggs & Stratton cabin air filter substitute...with all this dust, we don't want the inside to get coated. ....spoiled? obsessed??? woohoo!

The stock Mopar cabin filter is #82206886. Should be around $15.

beebs, you are correct! NEVER EVER wipe your paint dry! You can use a California Duster
here's where I just bought a new one after 10 years of use on the old.
http://www.cruiserbits.com/cgi-bin/d...t?PlateID=4258
you can also use a product by Meguair's called Quick detailer you can find it here: (scrol down once at the page)

The other Co.s like Mothers makes the same thing, it's just a matter of preference..[8D]

After reading the PT DIY about 'em, it looks like the Briggs & Stratton may be more effective for keeping the dust out. I got two of 'em yesterday at a lawnmower shop, so I'm going to put one of them in today and see. It's actually doing the drizzle/light rain thing here today....I think we'll be using our old truck to do errands....don't wanna get Prudence dirty......

Thanks for those links....i saw that meguiar's product at Autozone yesterday...I can go grab that there. And that duster thing, is THAt to be used "dry"? Sorry to sound like such a dimwit, but I've never had a car I had to worry about the paint on!!!!

beebs, yes the duster is designed to be used dry ans will remove dust but the Quick Detailer will remove bug guts and the splash up you get on the sides and any other dirt you happen to find. It's great when you don't need to wash the whole PT! Have fun!
