I don't have a brand loyalty at all. In fact, you could probably say I bought my GT DESPITE the fact it was a Chrysler! (I remember too many of their crappy BOXES they put out in years gone by..."K" cars, etc.) I grew up with friends that had their "muscle" cars...remember my friend's Roadrunner...great, fast block with sheet metal flapping everywhere! HA! The GT won my heart because it was quick, sort of affordable and very practical without being "practical looking!" SO far, I love the fit and finish, the interior space and the grin I get when I hit the pedal.

I started off with a Dodge Tradesman, moved to a GLH, then a '87 turbo Daytona, followed by a 1949 Fargo (Dodge Canada) 1/2 ton, then a 1990 Daytona. followed by a '97 Neon Sport, and finally the GT cruiser.
Every vehicle I have owned has been a DC, and some of them have been the "modern Mopars". Biggest grins I have had were from the GLH, the turbo I, and now the GT. It was SUCH a kick rolling up to a light, hearing the 'Stang beside you blip it's thottle. Green light, smash the gass down, and look in the back mirror at the astonished Ford owner. Did a lot of driving in the rockies with the Daytona. It cornered nicely, and it was great as you porred on the boost to pass all the weezing N/As on the climbs.

I've had an affinity for Chryslers since I was young but I didn't buy them exclusively. I learned to drive on a 82 Nissan Sentra wagon, then I had a 70 Plymouth Satellite and a 74 Valiant, but also owned a 72 TBird for a while. Then I inherited my folk's 87 Chrysler Lebaron Coupe when it was only a few months old (my Dad got a company car). That car was reliable enough though it tended to stray on the road a bit and got squirrely on wet roads. My next car, also new, was a 92 Eagle Summit AWD Wagon (technically a Chrysler but really a Mitsu). That car was great. I traded it in on a 97 Dodge Stratus... and THAT was a disaster. Head gasket blew at 18k, wipers never worked right, alignment issues, you name it.. I consolidated my car loan with other loans in 99 and bought a Subaru Forester. It has 92k on it now and still (knock on wood) hasn't had a mechanical failure. I swore, no Chrysler products ever again.
But then the time came this year to replace our second vehicle (a 92 Subaru SVX) and the PT won me back with a good Consumer Reports recommendation, price, lots of room, versatility, style and power (with the GT). Before this I would have shied from the PT for failing the power requirement. Here's hoping Chrysler has won me back. So far I love the car, but it's only 2 1/2 weeks old.
