2002 touring edition gone

Well I had to say good-by to my 02 cruiser today[xx(]


Oh yea, a new 03 GT replaces it

Chrysler MUST be hard-up to sell them, got an ok trade-in a great price, $2500 back and 1.9% for 72 months, too bad they didn't have any Dream Cruisers, I had a choice between an elect blue with leather, ( I HATE LEATHER, too hot in the summer) but I really like the blue, Or a Dark cranberry with cloth seats, I went cranberry!!
Has anyone found the "magic" wire to cut for the stiffer 1-2 shift, I know it has changed from 02

Welcome to the forum, THier. [^] After driving that new GT Turbo you may soon forget about your former 2002 PT Cruiser. Don't know about any "magic wire" but then I wouldn't be cutting any wire on my 5-speed as it is performing well and "If it's not broken I don't plan on fixing it." From my experience with the GT 5-speed I found that after about 3000-3500 miles shifting improved--smoother, quicker, etc. I'm pleased with my 5-speed except for the "crazy position" of reverse--guess that's German engineering for you. There was a yellow wire with a green tracer that dropped fuel pressure during the 1st to 2nd gear change to soften the shift, (automatics only of course) I understand the 03s have a different wiring set-up the the colors may be different, or it may not even exist, I think it was called the "TDR" or something like that. I only read about it recently as I was gathering info on blowing or turboing my 02 or tradeing up to the GT. I didn't do it to my 02 as I pretty much figured with the $2500 cash from Chyrsler the 02 wasn't going to be around long.

Not that I know of. I think MX5 had an explanation of why it wouldn't work in a thread on PTE.
