Aluminum Chromate

Has anybody ever used this stuff? $29 to turn my billet grille into "chrome plated"?

I think it might make it look dirty instead of bright.

i'll try and be polite....I think there's a reason it costs $29. The only way to chrome anything is to dip it...

Jeff,

That product will turn your aluminum a gold to a light brown color (like cadmium plating). I am a chemist by trade. If this product contains any "Chromate" (CrO3)or "Dichromate" (Cr2O7) in it, stay away...unless you like cancer! Chromate and Dichromate are bad news! Remember the movie "Erin Brockovich"?

You know what they say -- "you get what you pay for" and, for $29 that couldn't be much.
