question on wind noise from side windows

I am new to the list. I have a 2001 Ltd.

I seem to have, what I consider, unacceptable wind noise at speeds above 45 mph or so. I notice it around the driver's window area. I've had the door alignment checked and the seals. Everything seems OK. There is no water penetration when washing with high pressure water.

Any suggestions on how to solve this? If I install the side window deflectors, will that help at all?

Any other comments/suggestions on this topic?

they all have it as far as i know, mine is a 02 with the wind noise its deafening.

Get it checked by Chrysler, mine does not have this problem.

Make sure the roof rack is all the way back.

It all depends on how you define "Unacceptable"....all PT's have some wind noise....it's a brick with inner door seals and some noise is present. Over time, you'll not hear it anymore.

But then, you may have a bigger problem?

I have an 01 limited. No objectional wind noise that I can detect.

No wind noise on ours when everything is closed. Very Quiet.

That's what I do to help lessen the problem, but that is no solution.

Would anyone care to comment on the effectiveness of side window deflectors on the PT? Do they help at all from wind noise at high speeds on the highway?

What about the deflector for the moonroof? How does it do?

I have the WeatherTech side window visor set on my 2002 and am happy with it. Believe past posts indicated that the 2001 PT's needed to crack open the rear windows to lessen or eliminate the wind buffeting noise at highway speed.
