Heated Mirrors

Has anyone added heated mirrors to their '03 Cruiser? Can you just add the heated glass or do you have to buy complete housing?[:I]
Was it a major job or plug & play.

i know a guy who put them on his wifes 03 dream cruiser it was plug and go!!

It is a plug and go as far as the electrical connections, but you have to replace the whole mirror housing along with the glass as the 03 fixed mirrors and housing are both smaller.

What about the Signal Mirrors some of the suppliers are selling? One says it is heated. Anyone try these on '03 Cruiser?

Yes, actually. I replaced my fixed/non-heated 03 mirrors with 02 foldaway/heated ones. Because I couldn't justify spending even more money for (Muth) heated/signal mirror glass, I decided to get their wide-angle stick-on signal mirrors. They're great and serve two purposes.

While the mirror motor/glass mount is the same for 01/02 and 03, remember that the 03 mirror assembly and glass is smaller, and you also need the 01/02 wiring/plug to accept the heated feature via the defroster switch. BOTTOM LINE: you can't put 01/02 mirror glass in an 03 mirror! (I suppose you could do the reverse, but then your mirror size would be smaller and not heated.)

If you were looking to simply replace the 2003 fixed/non heated mirror assemblies with the 2002 fold-away/heated ones, is that a plug and go setup?

I am wanting both the fold-away feature and the heated feature. I am willing to accept the size difference between the 2002 and 2003 ones. I know how to access both the mounting hardware and the harnerss (pull door panel and pop off triangle cover behind mirror location on upper door). Does the 2002 mirror harness use a different connector (maale) than the 2003 witing harness (female)?

Pardon me for being dense, but I just want to be sure I understand. I plan on getting a pair of 02 mirrors from a junkyard and having them color matched, then swapping them on my 2003.

You are correct, sir. It is fully plug and play to swap the 03 full mirror assembly with the 02 full mirror assembly, and vice-versa.

The connectors for both years are the same. (The difference is that the 03's do not have the wire within the plastic connector block for the heated feature on the mirror side; but the 03's still have the corresponding wire in the connector on the door side.)

Trust me, you'll like the larger mirrors, especially if you're used to driving a truck or minivan. As mentioned above, they give more room to place the wide angle/signal mirrors on as well.

I have a 2003 GT and replaced my non heated and non folding mirrors with the 2002 Folding and heaqting mirrors. They plug right in and work perfectly...

Anyone care to post prices of the 02 mirror setup. How difficult are the door panels to r/r. Any suprises behind the panels?
