I am looking at a 2001 Limited, with 30k for 11,990 (might be able to get at 11,390) from a local dealer.....a few questions:
1. Anything to look for, problem wise 2. What was the Chrystler warranty on the 2001 (3/30 or more)? 3. How is it in snow, cant find that answer in any forum or fax 4. How does the price sound.... Thanks in advance, I look forward to becoming an Owener Member not just a lurker...... Thanks Bryans |

1. There were 2 recalls. Fuel line in engine compartment was rubbing on air-conditioning lines. A new gasket was put on the fuel pump located on top of the fuel tank. Make sure they were done. Some of us had problems with the power steering, either the steering connections or the pump...check for noise/clicking when turning the wheel.
2. Most 2001's had a 3 year, 36,000 miles warranty. Later in the model year the warranty was extended. 3. Most front wheel cars do OK in the snow. Make sure you have all weather tires in good shape. 4. Not sure of the price.

For what it's worth, the NADA online price guides for a 2001 Limited with 30k and alloy wheels put the trade-in value at $12,650 and retail at $15,150. My own recent experience is that actual prices have been pushed down $2000 or more below these levels due to incentives being offered on the remaining '03 models. Even so, here in Wisconsin, $11,390 for a '01 Limited in very good condition seems reasonable. You could try Cars.com or some of the other online listings to get asking prices in your area. Best of luck!

For the warranty info, call Chrysler to be sure. Do not take the word of the dealer. All that you have to do is to give them the VIN.
I seem to recall someone at Chrysler telling me that the 7 year 70,000 warraty started with new vehicles originally SOLD after July 9, 2002. Dundevil |
