"DC bean counters" delete from 2004 model...
something I do not miss at all--the little button located behind the ignition switch that you have to press each and every time you want to get your key out. Well, it's GONE--at least on my new 2004 GT. [8D] [^]

I think that Sci-Fi is correct, it was only on the manual cars. My 03 GT (auto) doesn't have that button but my parents 03 GT (manual) has it.

As usual on topics like this Sci-Fi is correct. The stick shift models were the only ones to have the button. It's a safety feature. On automatics the key is locked in and can't be removed except when the Cruiser is in park. These features keep the steering wheel from being locked into position while the vehicle is moving.

yeah, that button is only on 5-spds, still have mine. not on autos tho.
