You need to get one of these
http://www.directed.com/security/vip..._responder.asp It's lets you know (up to a 1/4 mile away) if some one is tampering with your car with a audible beeping on your alarm FOB. It's great !!!

I have a Compustar system (similar to the Viper) and love it. I live in a highrise on the 15th floor and my car is parked on the lower level of the underground lot and it still works. I wouldn't have any other alarm setup now.
