In case anyone had the occassion to lift their rear seats in the position toward the front. I discovered something new on the car. I'm probably the only one that didn't see it. They have a stretch cord that secures the seat from falling backwards. I found out what I stepped on the gas, and heard a loud BANG. I thought I dropped my trans! it was my rear seat just falling backwards. When I stopped to life it up, I saw the cord, amazing. [:I]Gary

Gary,
Hate to say it but your salesperson should have shown you that feature at time of delivery. All Chrysler sales people are required to fill out a delivery check list and have their customer sign it at time of delivery. Features like the seat strap should have been explained to you during the delivery presentation. You might want to explain the strap, and what it's for, to your salesperson next time you're back at your dealership!

Found the straps! Where else can you find a new feature of
your new car 2 years after receiving it? I'd run with the
seats up before, but with enough stuff in the back not to
have the "Bang!"

Thanks Chrysler and thanks Gary,

Rick

I didn't know about the strap either. This is just like the alarm system that I discovered myself after the salesman told me the car did not have one.

...Been There, Got That T-Shirt.

The first time you hear that SLAM, you could think you'd been hit. It's that Loud.

I drive with the drivers seat slightly reclined, and so the tumbled back seat is at the same reclined angle, which makes the distance about an inch farther, so the strap is too short to reach.

I had to add Caribiners to the D-Rings to compensate.

Hey GT Steve, according to my window sticker I also have an alarm system, but my salesman told me I didn't. What's the scoop? I don't want to find it the hard way.

If you have the alarm system it will automatically be set when you press either the remote control lock button or the lock that's on the door (it only works with the front doors... and it will NOT work if you push the manual locks) after it is set a small red light blinks on & off on the dash (above the odomiter)...
