After showing the dealer the posts you guys sent over,they are getting me a new part (hopefully its the right one) Car should be done Mon or Tues. Thanks for your help, will post the results. Gary

I developed that squeek when you turn the wheel,(15,000 miles now) they wanted to just lube the assembly, but from what I've read, that doesn';t fix it. So I told the dealer and brought the posts from here, about the same problem and what does and doesn't work. They still have the car, but now say they ordered something (which I hope is the new rack and pinion ) should have it back early next week. So I'm driving my 69 Mercedes now. I have to get at those struts and tower brace when I get my car back. Gary

Thanks for the reply Gary. Seems like this is a fairly common problem. I'll keep my fingers crossed it doesn't happen to me.

I had quite a day yesterday. See my post in the Wheels and Tire section.

BTW, I'm watching the CUBS right now. Down 2-0 in the 6th. GO CUBS!

Part is backed ordered, have to bring it back again when it comes in.
