Reverse Opening Hoods
I searched here for reverse hoods- few hits.
There seem to be 2 makers/vendors abound. I bought a PINEAPPLE version, installed it myself. Took some time, but what the hey. Pics? Sure...        |

D'oh!! Forum withdrawl!
The kit is made by Magic Pineapple. Not sure if he has a webiste, he does have a forum section at PTE: magicpineapple@concast.net forum: http://ptenthusiasts.org/PTForums/forumdisplay.php?f=35 This opening provides the SAME, if not MORE. work area than the OEM, since you have better access to the rear (fireall) area. You can still access the rad and dipsticks, you will have to remove the hood to remove/replace the rad for example. To install, it was okay- it uses INSERTS to thread the mounting plate. if you do not have an insertion tool, make one out of a long bolt and some washers, and nuts. Thread the insert onto the bolt, tighted with bolt, the rotate the bolt so the insert flares out. All set. The challenge is with the OEM breather- you cannot use it without modding it as the arms folb back, and will interfere with the battery cover. I won one from Race and Street (that yellow one) so that was a bouns). Also, with a NON-OEM grill, you have to notch it a bit to allow for the mounting h/w. It took a couple hours, but worth it IMHO. Notched E&G Grill:  Nothced hood lip to allow for hardware to retract
