The dye you are talking about is called "fovever black" to be used on pourus material only, like rubber bumpers etc. still need to look at the trim on the roof, to see what this is all about, G

I use a Motorcycle product called Silicone clean, from MOTUL.
I've never used this but I've read some great reviews on this product, it sounds interesting. Here's a link where it can be purchased online

http://pitposse.com/mosiclnsp.html

If someone else has used Silicon Clean let us know what you think.

$5.99 for it!!!![xx(]

I pay $12.50 in here....

I have used it in my bikes and love it...[?]

Remember, it is not for cleaning, it is for after you have washed the car. Be carefull, it is adictive... you will spray it on everything that you want to restore, the bottle will go empty real quick... also, it has a nice citrus smell, Just remember to open all the doors before spraing it inside the car...[|)]

Mine looks gray but it should be black. That's the problem.

It was black when I bought it. Now it's gray... and only going to get worse by my estimate. That's why I stated in the beginning of this thread it will need to be dyed. I don't think any amount of Armor All-like coatings are going to do anything except add to your list of maintenance items.

I think that Forever Black that Gary's talking about is one of the solutions I had in mind. Isn't that the stuff that goes on with an applicator similar to shoe sole dressing? Is it long lasting enough to be a permanent solution?

Side Note #1: Check the moldings on your opera windows. I am starting to get surface cracks .

Side Note #2: I have an '01 with the 12" roof gaskets factory painted. Newer models are raw. So apparently those are also a detail problem with fading and waxing. I would pull them off, paint them and be done with it.

Side Note #3: Rear window hatch gasket is aging poorly. Didn't someone in another forum simply remove it? I pulled back a portion of it and I think it's only decorative. WindowWeld is what actually fastens the glass to the car.
