I have a 2001 PT Cruiser. I found the problem to be the small rubber donut on the doors that press in the door switch when closed. The closing of the door puts a small dent in the rubber causing it not to fully push the unit in. Replace the small rubber donut or just simply turn it to another position. I have not had any problems since I did this. Good luck.

Hey...........a big thank you for the info. It hasn't happened to mine, but if it does it will be easier than taking it to the dealer an having him try to figure it out!
