I am driving a Black Limited Edition PT and I was wondering what was the best way to add some extra horsepower. I have a non-turbo and I want to add about 30 extra horses. Anybody got any ideas?

would the stage 1 work on a non pt car?? just a thought

nope, the stage one won't work. Try adding:
-cold air intake -FULL exhaust -headers -cams -and internal components This is the only to make power on an N/A motor without going forced induction or nitrous...

How hard or easy is it to put a turbo on a non-turbo PT? Does it require extensive engine rework? [:I] Inquiring PT owners want to know!

You can bolt on a turbo or supercharger. Many have done it. I, however, wouldn't recomment it. To be safe, you need to canage out some of the internal parts (pistons, rods, etc.) if you are going to put that much stress on the engine.

Agree with Basset Hound. I had thought about adding a Turbo but after reading the forum and doing some research I've decided against it.

We have thought about a supercharger, but after a drag event where the SC class was only pulling .5 or so seconds faster (1/8 mile), I decided it wasn't worth the money.
I have done just about everything I can (high flow cat is next) and I'm getting happier. I had heard the jet chip was having problems and my vendor stopped selling it until they got it worked out. Anyone know anything more about that? It's been a little over a year now. t

The turbo and Manifold from the GT will bolt right up, all you need to do is run the lines (oil, coolant), and change the fuel system to a return style and add in a RRFPR. W/o an intercooler you can safley run 5-6PSI, w/ an intercooler you can run 8-9PSI. That should put you around 200WHP.

Thanks Bassett. I was thinking that a bolt-on turbo would stress out a n/a engine. I would have to upgrade several engine components to feel confident in the engine. Since this is my daily driver, I'd rather not risk the chance of wrecking the engine. I'll go the ram air intake, cat back exhaust route. Thanks everyone for your valuable information. 98 Neon Driver, sounds like you know your stuff!
