Default READ THIS if you have MODS

The following post recently appeared on the [u]PTCC Forum</u> and should be of interest to Cruiser owners who make modifications to their cars:

Hello,
My name is Risse Zimmerman and my husband and I are the owners of Performance Trenz in Wichita. Yesterday my husband and I received a call from our Farm Bureau Insurance Company tell us that the Underwriters had dropped our insurance on our cars for the following reasons: I AM NOT KIDDING…

1) We have NOS Systems in our cars
2) We show our “DAILY DRIVERS” at car show
3) We have graphics on our cars

So what they were telling us we could not add anything to our car for any reason.
We can’t even meet with other fellow (same as) car owners. That would be viewed as a car show… What makes me mad, the adjuster that told on us, on his own free will, attended a PT Cruiser event that we put on.
We contacted the Kansas Insurance Commissioner. The person we talk to said that there was NOTHING in the LAW about NOS Systems.

SO BEWARE…

Pass this on… Post this on all the forums that you know of. This is bull and should be stopped.

Risse

Wonder if I should be concerned that my insurance may be cancelled because the painted-flames on my GT "might cause a car fire"?!!!

Can you believe it?

The only business I know that will turn away customers, and maybe some car dealer service shops that consider anyone who "complains" about the work to be a "high maintenence" customer.

Incredible.

The last time I checked with GEICO, which was several years ago, they would not insure me because I had, a one time, owned a radar detector, even though I no longer owned one. Not sure if it is still the same now.

Wait just a second.

How do they even know if you have mods. Its none of their damn business what we do to our car. Its not like they show up at your house on random to inspect your cars.

Who tells their insurance that they have NOS?

PTucker, the thing is, if you have an accident and you insurance was like the one that Gary04PT mentioned, the insurance adjuster could deny all or part of your claim based on the fact that your vehicle had mods. The best way to avoid this is to do as PT Chix did and get extra insurance for the mods to you PT.

I feel the same.

Luckily, my insurance company could care less.
