I know that with most after market hoods, getting a perfect fit seldom happens. Such is the case with my Fiber glass hood. One side fits tighter (closer) to the body than the other. Well, when I was at the dealer picking up my car, I was looking at the new cruisers on the floor, and they had gaps between the hood and body as well. I noticed a variation from car to car. I wonder how that happened? assembly line production should be exactly the same from car to car right? does anyone notice these gaps on their car? and does it vary from one side to the other. check it out you might be suprised. Mine has a fairly wide gap on both sides. I acutally closed my hood with a finger stuck in there by accident (don't ask) and while it hurt it didn't break anything.

Just check the gap on mine and it looks pretty equal all the way around, upon close inspection the gap on passenger side is just a little bit wider. Not really noticeable without measuring the gap on each side.

Aside from the weatherstripping, does not the hood rest on the two adjustable rubber posts on both sides of the hood latch? Now you guys are gonna make me pull out a micrometer to make sure both sides are even, heh. |
